Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.

J.D. Power & Associates Award for “An Outstanding Inpatient Experience”

In 2011, Shoals Hospital was recognized for service excellence under the J.D. Power and Associates Distinguished Hospital Program. This distinction acknowledges a strong commitment by the hospital to provide “An Outstanding Inpatient Experience”.

Certified Quality Breast Center

Shoals Hospital’s Mammography Department has been designated a Certified Quality Breast Center by the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers. This is a quality initiative of the National Consortium of Breast Centers. Shoals is just one of two mammography departments in Alabama to have attained this designation.

Chairman’s Award Recipient

Shoals Hospital received the inaugural RegionalCare Hospital Partners Chairman’s Award. The recognition is the result of the success Shoals demonstrated in achieving significant improvement and high quality outcomes in three key areas of performance: evidence-based outcomes, improved patient satisfaction, and cost-efficient care. Shoals is one of seven hospitals in the RegionalCare system.

Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC)

Shoals Hospital receives full Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC) in June. Accreditation expires in June of 2019.
“Receiving this accreditation is acknowledgment of the work involved by the Shoals Hospital team,” said Music Gaylor, the director of Inpatient Services at the facility. “We set a goal to achieve this, and, through the combined efforts of our multi-disciplinary team, we made it happen.”
